THE TBCSA

The Tourism Business Council of South Africa is the official umbrella organisation for the Travel and Tourism private sector in South Africa. Our mandate is to represent Travel and Tourism and be a conduit with the public sector. We seek to lobby and positively influence government policies and decisions in the interest of the Travel and Tourism sector.

OUR KEY MILESTONES INCLUDE:

Successful lobbying for the establishment of a dedicated government department for Tourism;
The development of the Tourism BEE Charter in partnership with key stakeholders;
Strengthening relations with influential organisations such as the UN World Tourism Organisation, RETOSA and the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).

The TBCSA is made up of paying members from key Travel and Tourism associations, leading businesses as well as large corporations, who operate outside of the Tourism sphere but recognise the overall value of Tourism to the economy.

To serve our MEMBERS for the purpose of building the pride, economy and identity of our (desti)nation, now and in the future.

OUR PARTNERSHIPS:

As already mentioned, the partnership between government and the private sector is represented by the TBCSA to ensure joint responsibility for South Africa's tourism policy, its strategic direction and its implementation. This commitment is embodied in the TBCSA's representation on a number of bodies established by the department of Tourism and other ministries.
