The one of its kind on the African continent, Hospitality Investment Conference Africa (HICA) - to be hosted for the second time this year is set to take place from 28 to 30 September.
This according to Mmatšatši Marobe, Chief Executive Officer of the Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA) – organisers of the conference, who said - “we want the event to become an integral part of the continents tourism and hospitality industries where top-level alliances are forged and decisions made.”
“From the onset the objective of the conference was to raise awareness of Africa’s tourism and hospitality industries; to create a forum for the discussion and establishment of best practice and to encourage high level networking opportunities, said Marobe.”
She said above all, “we wanted to facilitate a conference that will become a leading hotel investment conference in the continent that attracts key decision makers from the continent and beyond and as a build-up from last year’s conference – we seek to attract more delegates this year as compared to last year.”
According to Marobe up to this far the objectives set for HICA are being endorsed by the industry and the interest to support this event by organisations such as the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) in which its President, Mr Jean-Claude Barmgaten’s acceptance to be the patron of HICA stands as a good indication of the conference’s acceptance as working towards becoming one of the few global premier events for tourism and hospitality investments.
HICA attracts investors, developers, operators, financiers, consultants, architects and design specialists, further confirming the dynamism of the tourism and hospitality industries.
According to Marobe the programme for 2008 will cover topics such as (name the topics). In addition, the conference will once again host an awards programme. “Judges will award winners on the following categories (name the categories).
